Binomial Name: Ictonyx striatus Identification: Small size. Long black and white hair. White hair in four stripes down the back. There is a white patch between the eyes, and one at the base of each ear. Weight: Males +/- 1.4 kg (3 lbs), females +/- 1.4 kg (3 lbs) Gestation: 36 days Young: Litters of 1-3 (up to 5) Habitat: Found in all habitat types. Diet: Mostly insects, rodents and other small animals. Red List Status: Least Concern |
